By Firefighter Bryan Schulz
November 16, 2014

The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to respond Supply 781 for a reported dwelling fire located in the 2900 block of Beechwood Lane. Supply 781 made the response and connected to a nearby hydrant on Milton Avenue. Supply 781 is commonly used for rural water incidents where city water hydrants are not available but in this case a hydrant was the main water supply. Supply 781 provided approximately 32,000 gallons of water to tankers and other fire engines to extinguish the dwelling fire. Engine 712 was also alerted and responded to fill-in Fallston VFC House 1 while their crews were on the incident. Units remained out of JVFC for approximately six hours before returning.

Units: Engine 712, Supply 781
