The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a chimney fire in the 1800 Block of Trout Farm Road at 18:18 hours. Chief 7-1, Engine 712 and Rescue 751 arrived shortly after, and found a 2 story single family dwelling with smoke showing around the chimney area. Crews quickly went to work stretching a hand line and laddering the dwelling. Crews found fire located in a completely blocked chimney with minor extension into the dwelling. Crews were able to make a quick stop on the fire and prevent it from further damaging the rest of the dwelling. Crews worked the incident for 1.5 hours before clearing.
