The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a field fire in the 2400 block of Linda Lane at approximately 1650 hours. Units quickly responded and arrived at the scene of a large field and woods fire. Crews went immediately to work and were able to quickly contain the fire to its area of origin. Units were on-scene for over an hour before being placed back into service.
