The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company responded three engines and a supply unit to the scene of a grain dryer on fire located in Norrisville VFC's first due area. First arriving units advised heavy smoke coming from a loaded grain dryer. Upon further investigation crews found a deep-seated fire inside the dryer which was full of corn. Crews were able to make purchase points in the machine and while using multiple hand lines, to aide in extinguishing the fire. In the end crews placed a foam line in-service to ensure all hot spots were fully extinguished. JVFC crews remained on-scene for two hours before being placed into service.
