The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 4100 block of Federal Hill Road at 23:50. Engine 714 arrived soon after the alert with light smoke conditions inside the dwelling. Engine 714's crew advanced two 13/4-inch lines to the dwelling and began to make an attack on the fire. Part of Engine 714's crew and Engine 712's crew began ventilation of the dwelling. Fire was contained to the rear of a wood stove which was said to be the source of the fire. Other units from Jarrettsville and surrounding fire companies assisted in getting the fire under control. Units cleared at 02:04.
