The Bel Air Board of Town Commissioners recently honored members of the Harford County Fire Police for their service to the Town of Bel Air. A certificate of appreciation was presented during the Commissioners' meeting on January 26 and accepted by Phil Hartline of the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company. The Fire Police, who are members of various Harford County volunteer fire companies, are often called upon by local law enforcement. Police officials call on these volunteers for duties such as traffic control during community events that draw large crowds or emergencies, including vehicle crashes, floods, downed power lines and flooding.
