| Finally hereā¦
After the rescue committee was formed in July of 2007, Rescue 751 was driven home from
4-Guys Fire Trucks in Meyersdale, PA, on October 30th. Almost two and a half years later.
Rescue 751 is a 2009 Spartan/4-Guys Rescue Engine with a 915 gallon water tank, 1250 G.P.M. Hale Pump, 10" raised roof, 24ft stainless steel body with ROM roll-up doors, 245" wheelbase, 44/48 degree cramp angles, 28" extended front bumper, 40 ft overall length, 101" width, 10' 2" height, and has a GVW of 65,500.
The goals of the committee were to not overload the unit allowing 20% extra for weight capacity, 20% room for expansion for equipment we could carry in the future, allow for ergonomic placement of equipment (heavy items low and lighter items up high), and consistency between the apparatus.
Once the unit is lettered, driver and firefighter training complete, and equipment placed on-board, the unit will go in service in early 2010. |
