| The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a reported chimney fire in the 2900 block of Troyer Road at 19:43. Engine 714 with a crew of six called enroute moments after the alert and was the first unit to arrive on the scene of a working chimney fire. Crews from Engine 714, Engine 711, and Rescue 751 went to work laddering the roof and checking for any possible extension. Crews found heavy creosote buildup inside the chimney. Fortunately, the fire was contained within the chimney, with no extension to other parts of the dwelling. Crews used their chimney gear to extinguish the fire. Command held the assignment to Company 7 units, staffed by 22 personnel. The scene was cleared at 21:11. |
