The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a chimney fire in the 2300 Block of Birmingham Court. Chief 7-1 arrived on the scene of a two-story single-family home with a working chimney fire and heavy smoke inside the dwelling. Engine 714 arrived soon after, advanced a single hand line, and began to ladder the building while going inside the home to investigate. Engine 711 assisted with roof operations while Rescue 751's crew went to the attic space and checked for any extension. Fire was found to be contained to the chimney area and ventilation was performed to relieve the smokey conditions. JVFC units handled the incident and cleared soon later.
