The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 1900 block of Nelson Mill Road at 21:49 hours. Engine 714 arrived at the scene of a rancher-style dwelling with nothing evident, but soon upgraded the call to smoke inside with smoke detectors alarming. Crews were able to quickly locate a fire in the walls and extinguish it, preventing any further damage to the home.
