The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a building fire in the 3100 Block of Old York Road at 13:55 hours. Engine 711, Engine 712 and Rescue 751 all responded within minutes and soon arrived on a 20x15 shed with smoke showing. Crews advanced two hand lines and were able to quickly place the fire under control. Two chickens were also safely removed by JVFC firemen.
