Technical Rope Rescue Box 729

The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a technical rope rescue at the King & Queen Seat rock formation located in Rocks State Park on December 30, 2015, at 1651 hours. Mutual aid was received from the Whiteford VFC and Harford County's Technical Rescue Team. Units arrived and were able to quickly locate a conscious adult male patient who had fallen approximately 20 feet while rappelling from the rock formation. The patient was treated, stabilized and secured by EMS and Rescue personnel and extricated out of the woods and into a waiting ambulance at 1817 hours. With very poor visibility and unfavorable weather conditions, all responders performed remarkably on this technical rescue.
