Dwelling Fire 706 Box

The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company along with surrounding companies were alerted for a dwelling fire located in the 2000 Block of Baldwin Mill Road just before 0930. Engine 714 responded and arrived within minutes to find a two story single family dwelling with fire showing from the roof on the Delta side. Crews advanced two hand lines inside to the second floor where they were able to contain the spread of fire to the delta side of the dwelling and roof area. A second alarm was requested for additional resources to respond to the scene. Crews were on scene for approximately 3 hours before being placed back into service. The Office of the State Fire Marshal who investigated the fire, estimates the damage at $100,000 to the home and $50,000 to its contents.
