The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a dwelling fire located in the 1400 block of Buckthorn Drive at 17:20 hours. Chief 7 arrived on scene and reported a single story dwelling with smoke showing. Engine 714 arrived and located a fire in the chimney that had extended into the walls of the dwelling. The difficult location of the fire located in the chimney made for extended operations to ensure that all fire was extinguished. Crews remained on scene for an extended time before clearing.
