The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle accident with auto fire at the intersection of Route 165 & East West Highway in the early morning hours. Rescue 751 responded and arrived to find a single van off the roadway with fire showing from the cab. Crews went to work and knocked the bulk of the fire in the engine compartment but due to the heavy fire load of miscellaneous equipment in the back, foam was used to ensure the fire was extinguished. One patient was treated and transported to an area hospital for evaluation. Crews remained on-scene for a brief period of time before being placed back into service.
