The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 1200 Block of Sharon Road at approximately 1000 hours. Engine 714 arrived on-scene to find smoke showing from a two-story, single-family dwelling. Crews advanced hose lines inside the dwelling where they found a working kitchen fire. A quick knock was made on the fire preventing fire extension into other rooms. Additional units from Bel Air and Fallston assisted with fire attack and salvage and overhaul operations. Damages are estimated at $50,000 and the cause of the fire according to the State Fire Marshall's office was "juvenile fire play."
