The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was recognized today for their efforts during a water rescue in Rock State Park in August of 2020. On August 23rd, 2020, crews from various agencies from across the state worked for several hours to free a swimmer that became trapped by rocks under the water's surface. In honor of their extraordinary work on this complicated rescue, those companies/departments involved received the Maryland Star of Life Award.
