| Following are brief descriptions of a few recent incidents involving our volunteers demonstrating the range of emergencies they respond to in our community.
On 05/28/2008 the JVFC was alerted for two serious calls on White Hall Road. The first was alerted as a trauma-arrest at a construction site on a local farm. Later that afternoon Company 7 was alerted for a 10-50 PI, pedestrian struck, at Norrisville and White Hall roads. The actual location was on White Hall Road just across the Baltimore County line. Engine 713 and M792 assisted Baltimore County units with patient care and securing the landing site for MSP Trooper 1 before returning to service
A rush hour collision occurred during the evening of June 10 on East-West Highway at High Point Road. Engine 713 and Medic 792 again responded, this time to find a two-car 10-50 PI. An additional medic unit was requested bringing M791 to the scene. Units cleared shortly thereafter.
On 07/07/2008 an alarm was struck at 0939 hours, alerting the JVFC for what was originally reported as a small structure fire at the intersection. When Deputy Chief 7 arrived at 0944 hours, he upgraded the call to fire showing from a collapsed out-building in the 4300 block of Madonna Road. Crews remained on the scene for an extended period putting out hot spots due to the nature and number of combustibles at the location. |
