The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a chimney fire in the 1500 block of West Jarrettsville Road at 1456 hours. Engine 714 went enroute and arrived to find fire showing from the exterior Delta side. The crew advanced a handline and made a quick knock of the fire from the outside while other crews began checking for further extension, which was eventually contained to the Delta side wall. The cause of the fire was determined to be an improperly maintained chimney. Last units cleared at 1554 hours.
