The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a field fire in the 1900 block of Jerry's Road at 15:37. Chief 7 went enroute soon after the alert and was later advised the fire was actually located in the first-due area of Company 10 (Norrisville), off of Eden Mill Road.
Upon arrival, units encountered fire spreading across eight acres of a large, wooded area. This field and woods fire required additional companies from Harford and York Counties, working together, to control it. Units remained on-scene for several hours fighting the blaze. The last Jarrettsville unit cleared at 19:20.
