The Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to respond an engine to the scene of a reported dwelling fire in the 800 Block of Federal Hill Road (Route 165). Chief 7-1 arrived with smoke showing from the underside of an attached deck. Engine 712 and Chief 7 were next to arrive and used a single 1 3/4" hand line to extinguish the remaining hot spots. The assignment was scaled back and crews remained on scene for a short period of time before clearing. Cause was improperly disposed fire place ashes.
